We gathered in Rapid City, South Dakota to discuss how our coalition can partner with Native-led and Native-servicing organizations to support their communities with financing from the National Clean Investment Fund. We co-hosted this event with the Native CDFI Network (NCN), and held in partnership with the South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition, the Lakota Funds, and the Mountain Plains Community Development Corporation. We were and continue to be inspired by the shared determination to build paths to ensure that funding from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund reaches and benefits Native communities across the region.

Our team also went on site visits to the Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation and the Lakota Federal Credit Union. Thunder Valley CDC shared their work to empower Lakota youth and families to improve health, lifeways and the environment of their communities. At the Lakota Federal Credit Union, we learned how they serve the people of the Pine Ridge and Rose Bud Reservations by providing access to financial products and services, allowing their communities to achieve financial security and home ownership.
