Rev. Susan Hendershot

Rev. Susan Hendershot is the president of Interfaith Power & Light, an organization with a mission to inspire and mobilize people of faith and conscience to take bold and just action on climate change. Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) works in all 50 states and U.S. territories with a broad national network of state- and regional-level affiliates and a reach of 22,000 faith communities across the U.S.
Rev. Hendershot’s other experience includes serving as a member of the Steering Committee of the National Environmental Network (U.S.), a member of the United Nations Environment Program’s Faith for Earth Coalition Interfaith Women Council, and a member of the Climate Action Task Force of the Parliament of the World’s Religions.
Rev. Hendershot attended Bethany College in West Virginia, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies. Rev. Hendershot went on to graduate school at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology.
Rev. Hendershot believes climate change is a moral issue, disproportionately impacting those who are most vulnerable in our world. She gets her motivation and inspiration from her two sons. Rev. Hendershot is based in Washington, DC.
