Terri Mickelsen is the CEO of Clean Energy Credit Union, an online-only credit union, in Centennial, Colorado. Terri joined Clean Energy CU in 2017 to help obtain its federal charter. Since chartering in 2018, Clean Energy CU has gone from the startup phase to a $25 million credit union with over 4,700 clean energy focused loans and serving over 2,000 members.

Terri’s passion for helping members and credit unions started while working as a teller. Her roles in credit unions have centered around serving members via branches, call centers, and online/mobile banking. Working with underserved communities throughout New Mexico, she has also worked with programs such as the Individual Development Accounts (IDA) to support asset-building opportunities for low-income families and payday loan alternatives.

Prior to joining Clean Energy Federal CU, Terri served as COO and VP of Internal Operations at two New Mexico credit unions, each with over $500 million in assets. During her 11-plus years as an executive team member, she was recognized for her ability to incorporate innovations that resulted in significant improvements in the quality of service and cost savings to the organization.

As a community member, she has over 20 years of volunteer service, including United Way Community Fund Panel Chair, Girl Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, and as a Quality New Mexico Examiner. Terri earned her bachelor’s in business administration at the College of Santa Fe.
